SpeedMask® maskants have no solvents added and are designed to protect metal components prior to surface finishing processes. The masks are applied in one layer and cure in seconds "on-demand" when exposed to UV/Visible light. They are designed to protect components from harsh grit blasting, acid stripping, laser drilling, and chemical processing. Many maskants feature bright colors to enable easy visual placement onto substrates. After proper cure, the materials also leave no silicone, ionic contamination, or corrosive residues behind. Recommended surfaces include nickel superalloys, high-temperature steel, titanium, cobalt, and stainless steel.

N/A Low Adhesion Blue UV-Curable Maskant

UV/Visible light-curable SpeedMask® 740-BT maskant provides surface protection during painting, low-pressure grit blasting, shot peening, and general handling applications. The material supports the manufacturing of aerospace engines and structural components, as well as orthopedic joint replacement implants.

This maskant is bright blue in color, making it highly visible to automated optical inspection systems. The product cures quickly and is easily removed by peeling, leaving a residue-free surface on non-porous surfaces. When cured, it provides protection for titanium, stainless steel, nickel alloys, aluminum, glass, ABS, and PC surfaces. In addition, the maskant is resistant to MEK-based paint processes.
